Selective Memory
This Boing Boing Link just reinforces my belief that seeing is not believing. Our own preconceptions too often don't allow us to see Absolute Reality (if there even is such a thing). Each of is walking around with our own version of reality in our head, sometimes getting incredibly frustrated that no one else sees it the same way.
I can't help but think of the Fair Witness in Stranger in a Strange Land. I think the world would be a better place if we could all acknowledge that we are not impartial observers; that our natural tendency is to twist the facts to fit our belief system. It's hard to keep an open mind.
